Forward Deployed Engineer Certification: programme, labs and assessment

The SciTechBiz Institute Forward Deployed Engineer Certification trains people who deploy AI inside the client company and leave it running without them. It takes 12 weeks: 13 modules, 80 lessons, 12 labs, a 4-week project in a real company and a 30-minute oral defence. Access is only through the FDE Licence.

The craft

What a Forward Deployed Engineer is

An engineer who builds inside the client, with its data and its team, who is measured by use in production and who leaves once the client runs on its own.

At the SciTechBiz Community, the Forward Deployed Engineer deploys Legathum, iPersonality and Digital Twin inside the client company, together with a certified Consultant: the FDE builds and the Consultant supports.

Each lab checks itself and has a human rubric, always with synthetic data. You pass 10 of 12, with the evals lab and the security lab mandatory.

Assessment

How it is assessed

Code of Conduct

An exam of 20 scenarios in 20 minutes. It is the key to selling.

Knowledge exam

50 scenarios in 90 minutes, in week 8.

Final project

Four weeks at a real company, with its written consent and its data kept inside its own systems. You hand in an anonymised portfolio of 11 artefacts.

Oral defence

30 minutes with Deibson Silva: 10 of presentation and 20 of questions, including a surprise case.

What it proves

A digital certificate with a verification code and the title "AI-First Hybridisation Architect", valid for 24 months.

Language and tools

Taught in Spanish today

There are 27 videos in Spanish published in the Academy, and every lesson has a PDF and a quiz. English videos arrive in November 2026.

Tools: Claude Code as your copilot, Python, Node and git, installed with you in the first week. There is no entry test: we teach the craft.

Good to know

Access is through the licence

The Forward Deployed Engineer Certification is not sold on its own: access is through the Forward Deployed Engineer Licence, at €4,990 a year, excluding VAT.

  • The certification proves a competence, never a job or an income.
  • To deliver to client companies you need a valid certification and a signed Framework Contract and data protection agreements. The FDE annex to the contracts is in preparation.
  • The SciTechBiz Institute is not a university: its certifications and its advanced executive programmes are awarded by the Institute itself and are not recognised by any education authority.

Is there a Forward Deployed Engineer certification?

The SciTechBiz Institute in Madrid offers the Forward Deployed Engineer Certification, accessed through the FDE Licence (€4,990 a year, excluding VAT): 13 modules, 80 lessons, 12 labs, a 4-week project in a real company and a 30-minute defence with Deibson Silva. Those who pass hold the title "AI-First Hybridisation Architect".

Do I need to code?

No. There is no entry test: we teach the craft, Claude Code included. It is for people who already build with Claude or ChatGPT, whether or not they can code, and also for engineers, data analysts and operations or product leads.

How long does it take?

12 weeks: 8 of modules and labs and 4 of project at a real company, with about 80 hours of guided work plus the project.

What if I fail an exam?

Each exam can be retaken twice more. The labs check themselves and you pass 10 of 12.
